Projects

Creating a project

The five wizard steps, search engines, markets, devices and first data.

Use “+ Create project”. The “Next” and “Back” buttons let you review your choices before the end. The fields can be adjusted later, but the right domain and market are critical.

Step 1: “General information”

Name
A short recognizable name, for example “Shop BG”.
Domain
The exact domain that should be found in the SERP and in AI answers. Do not enter an arbitrary internal page as the main domain.

Step 2: “Search engines”

The tabs are Google, Bing, ChatGPT and Gemini. For Google you can turn on “+ Google AI Overviews”. For SERP you choose Mobile, Desktop or both. “Add search engine” saves the combination of engine, country, language and device.

Google
The main SERP source; set up the right market separately.
Bing
An additional SERP source, useful when the audience is relevant.
ChatGPT
An LLM engine for AI visibility, not a classic position.
Gemini
An LLM engine for AI visibility.
+ Google AI Overviews
Records presence and citation in the AI Overview of the Google SERP.
Mobile
Mobile SERP environment.
Desktop
Desktop SERP environment; the results may differ.

Step 3: “Keywords”

Add one phrase per line. Mix informational and transactional intents deliberately. Duplicates add no knowledge but can make management harder.

Step 4: “Competitors”

Add real domains without URL paths. If you do not know the competitors yet, skip this and later use “Most often in the top results” as a guide.

Step 5: “Statistics and analytics”

You can prepare the Search Console and Analytics connections or leave them for “Traffic”. They are not required for the first SERP check.

Questions & answers

One domain with two markets — one project or two?

One project is convenient with a shared team and a shared core; two projects are clearer with different languages, teams and reports.

Should I enable both Mobile and Desktop?

Yes, if both audiences matter. Mobile is often the main KPI, but desktop reveals differences.

Does the ChatGPT tab mean a position of 1–10?

No. AI engines return a cited/mentioned/missing status.
